At a press conference on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Arts et Métiers its new initiatives for 2024-2025 as part of its 2022-2027 strategic plan: new guidelines, progress on the SD&RS action plan, development of training offerings, development of partnerships, progress on Evolutive Learning Factories, etc.

Appointment: four new directors at Arts et Métiers

In 2024, Arts et Métiers its commitment to promoting women in industry by appointing four women to key management positions.

Marie BRANDEWINER, director ofthe Arts et Métiers Incubator since 2021, becomes Director of Innovation.

Arts et Métiers now Arts et Métiers three campus and institute directors: Catherine DAVY at the Lille campus, Amandine DUFFOUX at the Angers campus andthe Laval Institute, and Tatiana REYES atthe Chambéry Institute.

SD&SR Action Plan: Progress Report

Launched in 2022, Arts et Métiers to a sustainable development and social responsibility approach through a five-point action plan: Strategy and governance, regional roots, Education and training, Research, Environmental management, Social policy.

Spanning from 2023 to 2027, the action plan is divided into two main phases: an assessment of the current situation, including structuring and measurement, followed by a phase of actions to be taken to make progress and thus reduce the institution's greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

Over the course of 2023-2024, more than 1,900 staff members and users of the institution were made aware of the issue, enabling a carbon footprint assessment to be carried out, which showed a result of 15,751 tons of CO2 equivalent, or 2.22 tons per person (staff and students).

For the year 2024-2025, digital technology will be the number one priority in the coming months, with an action plan already being developed by the IT department and the chief of staff in charge of CSR, Amaëlle Mayer.

Arts et Métiers partner to businesses

Start-Up Alliance: incubation and acceleration of industrial start-ups 

Creating an ecosystem conducive to the development of industrial start-ups is the goal of the alliance launched by Arts et Métiers 2024. 

The alliance connects and supports scientific, technical, and industrial expertise services, in conjunction with theArts et Métiers laboratoriesArts et Métiers , more broadly, with all Carnot Arts laboratories and the expertise of the Arts et Métiers ecosystem.

This creates an ecosystem that promotes the industrial development of start-ups and scale-ups: large corporations, mid-sized companies, SMEs, start-ups, scale-ups, experts, and financiers. 

The Start Up Alliance aims to promote the institution's expertise and serve the start-ups of Arts et Métiers incubator for tomorrow.

RéCLasSIF Project: an academic network 

The aim of the "Industry of the Future Certified Campus Network" project is to bring together the campuses ofthe Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) andArts et Métiers form a unique national academic network serving industry.

The objective of the RéCLasSIF project is to deploy a network of 15 campuses of academic excellence and technology transfer dedicated to SIFs, spread across the country, and to accelerate the French offering by creating synergies between solution providers, academics, and socio-economic partners in a dynamic of open co-innovation.

More than 10,000 learners will be trained in developing innovations for the industry of the future, based on an initial portfolio of 32 projects.

Better education: towards a connected, sustainable, and responsible school system 

Evolutive Learning Factories "factory schools" serving the ecological transition

Arts et Métiers, attentive to Industry 4.0, is transforming its educational platforms to meet the challenges of the industry of the future and train those involved in its transformation: The Evolutive Learning Factory.

Each Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers towards a Learning Factory organization. Real and virtual, connected and scalable, these educational spaces enable technological, digital, societal, and environmental expertise to mature using the equipment available on each campus.

This Industry 4.0 factory-school program will have an impact on the training of future engineers in three main areas: the digital and technological revolution, eco-responsibility, and innovative collaborative engineering.

Arts et Métiers also Arts et Métiers make the Grande École Program more widely available through apprenticeships. At the end of three years of study, students with apprentice status obtain the same degree as students enrolled in the student program, giving them access to all the professions and sectors in which Arts et Métiers engineers work.

Supported by its subsidiary AMTalents, Arts et Métiers a new bachelor's degree program designed to support the evolution of existing fields while bringing the university closer to new industrial sectors:

  • A "Bachelor's Degree in Industry of the Future" opens up on the African continent 
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Industry in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, including Dax, Niort, and Bergerac
  • A Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology, specializing in systems design for environmental transition, will open atthe Chambéry Institute at the start of the next academic year and will soon be rolled out at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille (electric vehicle battery program).

Partnership development

Arts et Métiers to expand with the launch of apprenticeship and continuing education programs in partnership with AMTalents, including:

  • A Specialized Engineering Program (PIS) in "Mechanics and Mechatronics" in partnership withthe ISTP in Saint-Etienne. For this second academic year, 50 students were able to enroll.
