Validation of prior learning

The Arts et Métiers school Arts et Métiers two types of accreditation of prior learning: Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) and Accreditation of Professional Experience (APE).

  • VAE allows you to apply for all or part of a professional certification without returning to school.
  • The VAP allows students to pursue higher education without having the qualifications or diplomas required for admission to the desired program.

The Validation of Acquired Competence can thus provide support for professional development or retraining.

Validation of acquired experience - VAE

VAE allows individuals to obtain a professional certification—or one or more of the skill sets that comprise it—by demonstrating their professional and personal experience.

All ENSAM certifications listed in the France Compétences directories are accessible through the VAE (validation of acquired experience) process.

Although VAE exempts candidates from following a traditional training program, it is nevertheless a process that requires a strong commitment on the part of the candidate and will be assessed by a panel of examiners.

Validation of Professional Experience - VAP

Under certain conditions, the VAP allows individuals to access a higher education program for which they do not have the required entry level by demonstrating their professional and personal experience.

All ENSAM certifications listed in the France Compétences directories are accessible through the VAP process.
