Châlons-en-Champagne Campus

Welcome to the Châlons-en-Champagne campus!

The Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Châlons-en-Champagne in a nutshell

Located in the heart of the city in 18th-century national buildings, the Châlons-en-Champagne campus is the oldest of the eight Arts et Métiers campuses. It offers its students a high-quality and comprehensive educational and student life experience. The campus has numerous technological platforms, a Fablab, a library offering modular and collaborative workspaces, sports facilities, a student residence, a university restaurant, and green spaces in a peaceful and harmonious setting.

Deeply rooted in the region's socio-economic fabric, the campus puts its areas of expertise at the service of two competitiveness clusters: mechanics, energy, and manufacturing processes for the Materaliacluster, and machining of plant fiber composite materials for the Bioeconomy For Change (B4C) cluster.

A word from the director

“The programs offered at the Châlons-en-Champagne campus are designed to meet the needs of businesses and the expectations of students. The Grande Ecole Engineering Programme companies Grande Ecole Engineering Programme highly qualified generalist engineers capable of handling a wide range of roles. The Mechanical Engineering and Smart Manufacturing Specialization Program trains hands-on engineers with a deep focus on design and smart manufacturing, and its work-study format ensures they are fully operational upon graduation. The Bachelor of Technology Program trains mid-level managers capable of taking on responsibilities in production, for example, as well as in the fields of rapid prototyping and industrial performance. Finally, doctoral students work on industrial research topics and acquire very high-level skills in engineering sciences. They are capable of supporting innovation in companies to maintain competitiveness. All our students complete periods in industry (work-study programs, internships, professional training contracts) and work during their studies on projects conducted in collaboration with industrial or academic partners. We strive to foster entrepreneurship through the entrepreneurship and technological innovation track by raising our students’ awareness, providing them with spaces for creativity, design, and prototyping, and offering them challenges in collaboration with our industrial partners (hackathons).” Giovanni Radilla, Director of the Châlons-en-Champagne Campus

The courses offered on campus

In terms of education, one of the campus's unique features is that it offers a work-study program in mechanical engineering and smart manufacturing, open to apprenticeships and continuing education, in partnership with the CFA Arts et Métiers, AMTalents. In addition, the campus provides educational and administrative support for general engineering students, selected from the eight Arts et Métiers campuses, who are spending time studying in Canada. Most of them go to the province of Quebec, where we have long-standing partners (Polytechnique Montréal, Ecole de Technologie Supérieure, Université de Sherbrooke, Université de Laval, and Université du Québec à Rimouski) and a more recent partner (Concordia University). Since 2024, the University of Toronto has also offered a few places to our students. Each year, around 70Arts et Métiers studentsArts et Métiers to Canada for a short mobility program (four months) or a dual degree (two years).
