Arts et Métiers a new competitive exam: AMBition ingénieur, for admission to the Specialized Engineering Program (PIS) and Grande École Program (PGE) with a BUT, BTS, or Bachelor's degree!

AMBition Arts et Métiers engineer logoIn line with its strategy to train more engineers to meet the challenge of reindustrialization, Arts et Métiers a new opportunity to access its Graduate Program (PGE) and Specialized Engineering Program (PIS), particularly through apprenticeships, with a BUT, BTS, or Bachelor of Arts et Métiers.

According to Laurent Champaney, Managing DirectorArts et Métiers " Arts et Métiers train more people: opening up new avenues for accessing our training programs will enable us to diversify our pool of learners and increase the number of engineering graduates."

Graduate Program: Admission to 3rd year of Bachelor's Degree in Technology

  • Written multiple-choice tests: April 2, 2026
  • Eligibility results: May 5 , 2026
  • Interview dates: May 11 to 20, 2026
  • End of wishes: May 21 , 2026 - 11:59 p.m.
  • Admission results: May 26 , 2026

There are two written tests (1.5-hour multiple-choice questions) to assess the requirements for admission to the Grande Ecole Program (PGE): 

  • An engineering science exam common to all original courses , including basic-level questions on mathematics, mechanics, and electricity, electronics, and automation.
  • A specialized exam depending on the original field of study: mechanical engineering (GM), including more advanced questions on mechanics, or electrical engineering (GE), including more advanced questions on electricity, electronics, and automation. 

The program largely corresponds to the programs of the reference fields, namely that of the BUT GMP for the GM specialty field, and that of the BUT G2EI for the GE specialty field.

Apply in your second year of study and defer your admission!

  • You have the option of deferring your admission for one year by taking a gap year. For example, you can apply for the second year of a BUT program and, if you are admitted, complete your BUT and join Arts et Métiers following Arts et Métiers .
  • You can access the same training program (same diploma) through an apprenticeship. If you are interested, sign up for the dedicated interview.

Specialized Engineering Program: through apprenticeship with a BUT or BTS degree

Becoming an Arts et Métiers engineer Arts et Métiers an apprenticeship guarantees the same academic quality as the Arts et Métiers Grande École Program, while learning the codes and workings of the company and putting the knowledge acquired at school into practice. Students benefit from a solid theoretical foundation with 18 months of professional experience. The apprenticeship will be run by theArts et Métiers CFA.

  • Eligibility decision: May 26, 2026

Admission requirements

  • Hold a BUT (or be in the second year of a BUT) or a BTS (scientific or technical), or be a student in CPGE (scientific or technological), or in a Bachelor's degree program (scientific or technological).
  • Be under 30 years of age (unless otherwise provided for by law).
  • Be deemed eligible by the School's admissions committee, after review of the application and interview

Final admission will be granted upon full signing of the apprenticeship contract. (Limited number of places available)
