Welcome to the Chambéry Institute!
The Arts et Métiers Institute Arts et Métiers Chambéry in a nutshell
The Chambéry institute was founded in 1995 as a design, mechanics, and environment institute, making it a pioneer in sustainable design. Located in the Savoie Technolac technology park, it is committed to facilitating co-construction and knowledge sharing in the areas of sustainability and regional resilience. To this end, the current objective is to develop a sustainable living lab, open and inclusive, showcasing the possibilities of the industry of the future, robust and socially responsible. The aim is to support the industrial fabric in its transformation towards sustainability and robustness at the local level in order to cope with socio-ecological fluctuations.

The Chambéry research team strives to understand phenomena and to create and formalize knowledge on the social, ecological, and health issues surrounding socio-technical systems. It proposes forward-looking technological scenarios and models for the socio-ecological transformation of systems, products, industries, and the industrial fabric (scaling up), adapted to changing societal contexts. It develops indicators, tools, and methods to support and assist decision-making.
