The Arts et Métiers Institute Arts et Métiers Chalon-sur-Saône, in partnership withLe Grand Chalon,Usinerie Partners, UIMM,IUT Chalon-sur-Saône, andCnam BFC, organized the 10th edition of the Chal'EngeAM challenge.
For 10 years now, this competition has been a professional springboard for our MTI3D Master's students, who are joined by students from the AI & Big Data engineering degree program offered by CNAM BFC. The competition also welcomes a new category of projects. In addition to virtual and augmented reality demonstrators, projects focusing on Artificial Intelligence are also being proposed.
A look back at this competition aimed at students and businesses in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
For 10 years now, the Institut Arts et Métiers Chalon-sur-Saône has been offering its master’s students in “Digital Engineering” within the “3D Interactive Technology Management” (MTI3D) program the opportunity to take on challenging projects that put into practice their training in all the methods and tools of digital transformation (3D, virtual reality).
The purpose of this contest
- Strengthening ties between academia and industry
- Introduce students to the challenges and demands they will face after graduation,
- Open up new economic opportunities for businesses through the use of digital technologies, thereby promoting the digital transition through these technologies.
The Chal’engeAM challenge involves developing a prototype for participating companies within two weeks. To this end, the students began contacting companies in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in mid-November 2023 to present virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence tools. Together with the companies, they defined a set of specifications for the development of a prototype in the form of a functional proof of concept. The projects are carried out in student groups.
