Fabien Viprey and Lamice Denguir received the First Prize for Thesis and the Scientific Prize, respectively, on June 7 during the gala dinner of the MUGV 2018 at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux.
Fabien Viprey is a member of LaBoMaP, and Lamice Denguir completed a MAGIS research master's degree and a doctorate in the same laboratory.
For the first time this year the AUTGV (Association for Very High Speed Machining) and Manufacturing 21 (a group of academic research laboratories) awarded three thesis prizes. These prizes are intended to reward three young doctors who defended their theses between January 2015 and December 2017 and who participated in the Manufacturing 21 conference.
Fabien completed his thesis at the LURPA at ENS Paris-Saclay and LNE-Paris : Modeling and characterization of structural defects in 5-axis machine tools for in-process measurement. Lamice completed his thesis at LaBoMaP and CEA Valduc: Characterization and modeling of the mechanical and microstructural state of sublayers affected by the finishing machining of Cu-c2 copper and impact on corrosion resistance.
The third prize (industrial prize) was awarded to Pierre-André Rey for his thesis completed at INSA Toulouse and Airbus: Characterization and optimization of orbital drilling of Ti6Al4V and CFRP/Ti6Al4V stacks.
