Louis, Jonathan, Hugo, Laura, and Mathis, five students from the campus, have been responsible since May 11 for packaging and distributing more than 5,000 visors produced by 3D printing and plastic injection molding.

Since the beginning of April, the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers has been working to produce and distribute face shields to hospitals, clinics, associations, nursing homes, and now also to businesses, town halls, middle schools, and high schools.

Teamwork: students take over and organize themselves

Initially managed by the school administration, students now assemble and distribute the visors to organizations that have contacted the campus spontaneously or upon request. Orders are to be picked up directly at the students' residence, in compliance with social distancing measures, as the campus is inaccessible to students.

These visors are currently still being produced:
- by 3D printing: an operation supported by the South Regional Council and VINCI Energies (purchase of printers and raw materials) on campus,
- by plastic injection molding in partnership with the Jean Perrin high school in Marseille on the school's injection molding machine.

Solidarity, a commitment dear to Gadz’Arts

To date, more than 4,000 visors have been delivered by the school thanks to this system.

A student participating in this project shared his thoughts with us:

I am proud to be part of this initiative, which allows me to make myself useful. It gives us the opportunity to put several hours of our free time to good use.

The students have a stock of around 3,000 visors. As long as there are still some available, the students on campus will continue to be involved in this project, which is very important to them.
