After completing ageneral engineering degree and a Master of Science Research and Management of 3D Interactive Technologies at Arts et Métiers, Benjamin Cosse embarked on anentrepreneurial journeyand foundedCottos Medical, a company specializing in the design of equipment for healthy aging.
After completing a Baccalaureate in Science and Technology and a preparatory class in Mathematics and Physics (MPSI/MS) at the Prytanée National de La Flèche, Benjamin enrolled at Arts et Métiers the Angers campus in 2007. Thwarted by a serious health problem, he was unable to pursue his ambition of a career as a military officer. He therefore opted for a school that offered training in general industrial and pragmatic technical culture: Arts et Métiers. It was here that he learned to forge, handle molten metal, and machine parts. " which makes us humble and brings us closer to the operators ." In his third year, he pursued a double degree and enriched his experience with a stay at the Universidad Politecnica in Spain: "an incredible, unforgettable experience."
Arts et Métiers Training Arts et Métiers a springboard to entrepreneurship
Highly curious, he completed an internship during his first year at Arts et Métiers the construction industry, a sector close to his heart because it mirrored the esprit de corps of the military. He was so satisfied with the work and studies he undertook there that he wanted to subcontract them to his boss. Guided by Simon Richir, Director ofthe Arts et Métiers Institutein Laval, as part of the “Entreprendre aux Arts et Métiers program, Benjamin Cosse, then a sophomore, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey. His keen curiosity led him to pursue a Master of Science Research and Management of 3D Interactive Technologies at theInstitut Arts et Métiers Laval. There, he gained a solid understanding of the Virtual Reality industry through active learning and collaboration with industry professionals.
From idea to business creation
After completing his Master of Science Research in 2010, the idea of launching his startup began to take shape. Following the founding of six companies in the 3D field, Cottos Medicawas finally launched in 2014. And to get there, he makes no secret of the fact that the reputation of Arts et Métiers was a major help, particularly in his relationships with industry partners. He invented a connected bike, Cycleo, designed for residents of care facilities, whether medical or non-medical. The data collected allows for the study of changes in cognitive performance. Building on its success, the startup currently employs five people, and with such momentum, there’s no question of shifting gears…
