"Flourish athletically at the Arts!"

Paul Moreau, engineering student and elite athlete
News

Paul Moreau is an engineering student and a high-level track and field athlete. Due to an injury, the engineering student was unable to train this year but was able to take advantage of all the other sports activities offered by Arts et Métiers. This will help him stay in shape before returning to track and field in September!

A finalist in the French championships in javelin throwing and combined athletics events in 2016, Paul Moreau is a high-level athlete. His favorite discipline is the decathlon: 10 athletics events over two days! "The decathlon is a comprehensive sport that consists of various track and field events: 100 m, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400 m on the first day, followed by 110 m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1,500 m to finish off the second day,"explains Paul.
Since childhood, Paul has combined his sport with his studies. After completing a technical degree in electrical engineering in Rennes, he joined the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille in 2020. Due to a knee injury, he was forced to temporarily stop athletics. He then took advantage of all the sports activities offered by the campus sports association. "For example, we took part in a rugby tournament organized with the Ecole Centrale, and we play basketball, volleyball, and other sports," adds Paul. These sports activities have allowed him to stay in shape so that he can resume athletics training at the club in September.

Regardless of our athletic ability, we can all get involved in proposing new sports activities and enjoying athletic pursuits at Arts et Métiers!
