The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovationand the Ministry of Sports, in anticipation of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, launched acall for projects in 2019focused on "high-performance sports." TEAM-Sports is one of six projects selected. 

Towards the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

In the context of the upcoming 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Paris, France aims to double the number of medals won at the last Olympics. To meet this challenge, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation and the Ministry of Sports are joining forces by strengthening policies for identifying sporting talent and mobilizing French scientific resources to support elite athletes.

TEAM-Sports or group dynamics in team sports

TEAM-sports is one of six winners selected. It is led by the Psy-Drepi laboratory. Psy-Drepi laboratory at the University of Burgundy and brings together six research organizations (University of Burgundy, Arts et Métiers, Inserm, CEA List, University of Rouen-Normandy, University of California-Santa Barbara) and five sports federations (rugby, handball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer).

It aims to study identity processes and their relationship to athletic performance. 

Arts et Métiers AMValor personnel will be mobilized.

As part of this project, Arts et Métiers, through the Image Institute in Chalon-sur-Saône, will be responsible for developing a virtual reality application that allows professional players to develop psychosocial skills by placing them in specific situations in the most realistic way possible. The team is composed of Jean-Rémy Chardonnet , who will be supported by a post-doctoral researcher (recruitment planned for early 2021) and two members of AMValor.
