On October 6, Arts et Métiers the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology organized a major conference on the industry of the future in Karlsruhe. This event was an opportunity for Arts et Métiers its international development strategy, strengthen the links between training and research, and present the institute's objectives.
20 years of collaboration between Arts et Métiers KIT.
This year, Arts et Métiers KIT celebrated 20 years of partnership through the Franco-German dual degree program. Since 1996, more than 722 French and German students have graduated from the program. This year, 25% of first-year students enrolled at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz are following the Franco-German program.
This cooperation has also grown stronger over the years, particularly thanks to their joint research activities.
Keen to strengthen their partnership, the two institutions have created a Franco-German institute for the industry of the future.
The institute's objectives
This partnership aims to foster new scientific collaborations between teams from both institutions, with a Franco-German approach that benefits businesses in both countries. A true driver of value creation, it has the ambition of creating a cross-border incubator and a Franco-German doctoral school.
Several areas for partnership development have been identified:
- Supporting manufacturers on issues related to the "industry of the future" with students Arts et Métiers KIT
- Training engineers for the industry of the future in an international context
- Create an innovation system to support highly innovative SMEs/SMIs with proofs-of-concept based on technological skills and platforms.
- Create a Franco-German incubator to target international markets.
- Give startups hosted by Arts et Métiers KIT the opportunity to receive support from French and German experts. This is undoubtedly the most original project, as very few structures of this type currently exist.
German and French scientists will use the platform for joint research, exchange, and cooperation with industry professionals.
