When social and environmental responsibility go hand in hand with team cohesion

The institute in Chalon-sur-Saône gave its staff a wonderful surprise: a jar of honey from the hive sponsored by the company CowoBee.

Two beehives have been installed on the Cluny campus, but they do not produce honey because they are used by our students to test their prototype for the thermal treatment of varroa mites, developed as part of an educational project. The aim is to eliminate the use of medicinal products and to facilitate handling for those who have opted for organic treatment.

"We have been sponsoring a honeybee hive since January 2024, in partnership with Chalonnaise company CowoBee, which specializes in setting up apiaries in businesses. However, we kept it a surprise for our staff members because we wanted to thank them for their dedication," says Jean-Rémy Chardonnet, deputy director of the institute.

It was during the end-of-year outing in July that staff members were able to discover the beehives and leave with their own jar of honey.

"We train virtual specialists, but that doesn't prevent us from being grounded in reality, and in particular from being concerned about issues related to social and environmental responsibility."
