The student ID card
The student card gives access to CROUS services (the institution responsible for student social services such as university restaurants and housing) and entitles holders to discounts at cinemas, theaters, libraries, exhibitions, shows, and transportation.
The certificate of enrollment is available in each student's personal account.
Health insurance
Health insurance is mandatory for the duration of studies at Arts et Métiers.
- Students from the European Union (+ Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) must apply for a European Health Insurance Card from their social security center before leaving, or take out private health insurance.
- Students from countries outside the European Union must join the French social security system. They can choose from several student mutual insurance companies when they enroll at Arts et Métiers.
NB: Student mutual insurance companies also offer supplementary health insurance.
This is not mandatory, but supplements reimbursements for medical visits, medication, etc.
Civil Liability
Civil liability insurance is required for enrollment in any French educational institution. Student mutual insurance companies offer civil liability insurance policies that cover damage caused to third parties by the policyholder.
Accommodation
EachArts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers student housing, a university restaurant, and sports facilities.
Cost of a room in a residence: between €160 and €500 per month.
A deposit of at least €400 is required for the rental. Additional information can be obtained from the school office of the assigned center.
To rent an apartment from a private individual, written proof of parental income or a scholarship certificate will be required.
Foreign students residing in France for more than six months are eligible forpersonalized housing assistance (APL) granted by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF).

Scholarships and funding
If there is a bilateral Erasmus agreement between Arts et Métiers your university, Erasmus funding may be granted by your home institution.
French government scholarships are reserved for students from countries that have signed a bilateral agreement with France. Applications must be submitted through the cultural services of the French embassy in your country at least one year before your departure for France.

Information about the Eiffel Scholarship
The Eiffel Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship that enables the best international students and doctoral candidates enrolling in a French higher education institution to obtain financial assistance for all or part of their studies.
At Arts et Métiers, we have chosen to accept applications from students joining the Grande Ecole program (engineering degree) for at least two years, under a bilateral agreement with a non-EU country.
It is also possible to obtain a scholarship to study abroad from your own government.
Life in France
You should budget between €400 and €800 per month, depending on the region.
The student card entitles you to discounts at the cinema, theater, concerts, libraries, exhibitions, and on transportation.
Any foreigner staying in France for more than three months can open a bank account. While checkbooks are usually free, bank cards are subject to a fee.
