Discovered by the MIT Technology Review team, Johann Kalchman was awarded the MIT prize for "innovators under 35." He is the founder of the start-up Lifeaz, hosted by the Arts et Métiers incubator.
The MIT Prize, international recognition for technology
MIT Technology Review is the media outlet of the prestigious American university MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Each year, the most promising young talents are identified and honored with the "Innovators Under 35" award.
Among the iconic figures who have previously received this award are Sergey Brin for Google and Mark Zuckerberg for Facebook, when their projects were still in their infancy.
They are young, talented, and inventing the world of tomorrow. Joining the MIT Innovators Under 35 community guarantees international recognition.
"I was surprised and very honored to be listed alongside extraordinary projects led by impressive entrepreneurs. For Lifeaz, this is a boost in visibility and credibility," says Johann.
With this distinction, a media storm has descended upon the MIT Innovators Under 35. They are now role models for the younger generation, inspiring them to pursue careers in science and technology.
A European final is scheduled for September 14 at Station F, the world's largest startup campus.
The defibrillator of the future
Johann Kalchman is spearheading an innovative technological project that will benefit everyone: the connected defibrillator.
The stakes are high. 80% of cardiac arrests occur at home. When someone goes into cardiac arrest, you have four minutes to act.
This observation led to the creation of Lifeaz, a start-up that develops connected defibrillators for homes and small organizations. Easy to use, compact, portable, and with a battery life of five years, this defibrillator automatically detects cardiac arrest.
Lifeaz, its news
"We are winners of the digital innovation competition and have been awarded an honorary loan from Scientipole. The connected defibrillator will be manufactured in France, making it a 100% Made in France product," says Johann.
The start-up has signed a partnership agreement with the Paris Fire Brigade. The aim is to develop a community of citizens trained in life-saving techniques, thanks to an online training platform currently in the testing phase. Pre-registration is available at: citoyenslifeaz.fr
Lifeaz is a passionate and dynamic team of 10 people who need additional skills.
