The Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers is launching a new Master of Science program—"Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Science" (AM²S)—at the start of the 2020 academic year, in partnership with Texas A&M University (TAMU)

This new Master of Science the result of the transatlantic partnership between Arts et Métiers TAMU, which has been in place for over 20 years and led to the creation in 2018 of the AM² cluster, a joint center for research, innovation, and education in materials and advanced manufacturing at the Aix-en-Provence Campus.

Arts & Métiers mobilizes to help small and medium-sized industrial businesses resume operations

Arts et Métiers the Société des Ingénieurs Arts et Métiers alumni association) have designed a support program for small and medium-sized businesses facing the challenge of implementing health protection measures for their employees as they restart their activities.
This program, called GARAS (Guide d'Accompagnement de Reprise d'Activité Sécurisée, or Guide to Safe Business Restart), includes:
• Health protection information necessary for returning to work (workstation and schedule adjustments, organization and logistics, etc.)
• A proposal to welcome an Arts et Métiers engineering student to the company to implement these various measures, as part of an internship tailored to this mission and integrated into their academic program. 1,500 first-year engineering students are available for an assistant engineer internship.

Arts et Métiers mobilizing to help healthcare workers by designing equipment tailored to their needs.

Under the leadership of Nicolas Perry, a professor and researcher at the Bordeaux campus, the eightArts et Métiers campusesArts et Métiers to design and produce protective visors for healthcare workers on the front lines.
Professors, researchers, staff members, and students quickly volunteered to participate in the design and production of this protective equipment. Rotations are carried out every day to maintain a high level of production, approximately 1,500 units per week.

Inauguration of an international teaching and research chair between Arts et Métiers ESI Group, and presentation of a CNRS silver medal to Professor Francisco Chinesta

On February 4, 2020, Arts et Métiers ESI Group inaugurated CREATE-ID, an international chair for teaching and research in the field of engineering and digital engineering of materials, processes, structures, and systems. On the same day, Professor Francisco Chinesta, professor and researcher in engineering at the Laboratory of Processes and Engineering in Mechanics and Materials (PIMM – Joint Research UnitArts et Métiers) and holder of the CREATE-ID Chair, was awarded the CNRS Silver Medal.

INEDIT European project: design your own furniture using an open innovation platform

A research project coordinated by Arts et Métiers, INEDIT (Open INnovation Ecosystems for Do It Together process) aims to create a platform linking open innovation and open manufacturing, dedicated to the co-creation and manufacture of furniture for all. Launched at a meeting held on October 22 and 23 on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris, this European project has been awarded a €7 million budget by the European Commission and brings together 14 partners from eight different countries (Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, etc.).
