A new president for the Gadzarts student association

Pierre Sigot is a first-year student at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille and has just been elected as the new president of the AEG (Association des Elèves Gadzarts) for the 2018/2019 academic year. He has been keen to take on this role since the start of the academic year, when Jean-François Jung, the former president, presented the association to new students. Pierre explains: "I immediately realized that we, as Gadzarts students, have a lot to share with others."

Multiple actions to be carried out during the year

During his year as president of the AEG, Pierre wants to strengthen communication between engineering students and other stakeholders. He explains: "For example, we don't know our classmates at CNAM; it would be great if we could get to know each other better." Pierre also wants to continue the work started by Jean-François during his term. He therefore wants to strengthen relations with Arts et Métiers staff Arts et Métiers "We have already put together a questionnaire for staff to find out what kinds of activities they would like to share with us," explains Pierre. The AEG has received around thirty responses, which have already enabled it to organize certain activities, such as a cooking class and a lunchtime get-together on Wednesday, June 6.  In parallel with these initiatives, Pierre also wants to continue developing major projects such as the creation of an Escape Game (Escape Gadz) and the renovation of the foyer.

Develop your skills with AEG

According to Pierre, his role as president of the AEG allows him to gain experience of life in a company. "You can't really talk about pure management because I'm working with friends here, but the role of president still requires significant organizational skills," explains Pierre. He also says that his oral communication skills have improved: "I was elected by my class, which boosted my self-confidence! Today, I feel more comfortable speaking in front of groups, and I get to work with a whole range of different people, including the campus management and even the school's senior management ."
