On the occasion of the exhibition "La vie en transparence" (Life in Transparency), which aims to retrace the history of Châlons-en-Champagne from the 1920s to the 1950s, the city's Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology asked the Châlons campus and the Arts et Métiers Foundation to provide various items relating to student life during this period. This exhibition will begin on July 8, 2017, and end on Sunday, January 29, 2018.

The exhibition "La vie en transparence" (Life in Transparency) required the digitization of more than 2,800 photographic documents (phototypes, plates, and film) and provided the Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology with valuable insights into life in Châlons from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Some of these photos, taken on the Châlons campus, provide a glimpse into student life at the time. In addition to these photographs, first-year engineering students provided a key from 1938, a recent uniform, and a text recounting the history of student traditions. The Arts et Métiers Foundation has loaned two jackets from 1913 and a cap from 1905. Finally, the campus was able to provide notebooks from the period, in which teachers' comments can still be read.
