After completing a preparatory class for the Grandes Écoles (CPGE) in Physics and Technology at Newton High School in Clichy, Jean-François Jung enrolled at Arts et Métiers the Lille campus. After a few months, he decided to get involved in the school's student life and was elected president of the student association.

Jean-François Jung wanted to study art. The quality of the program, the emphasis on practical work, and the school's reputation prompted him to repeat a year of preparatory classes and take the entrance exam a second time, this time successfully. In September 2016, he entered his first year at the Lille campus. He then discovered campus life and decided to get involved. Elected President of the campus student association, he set himself the goal of succeeding both in his studies and in his mandate.

Community involvement and studies: Jean-François's dual commitment

Jean-François does not separate his involvement in student associations from his studies, believing that "there needs to be a balance between the two." The engineering student has learned a great deal since taking on his role: " I've matured, I'm more comfortable speaking in public, and I've acquired management skills that will be useful to me professionally."  For Jean-François, community involvement is a real bonus of the Arts et Métiers engineering program, as it allows him to meet students from other schools, lead large projects, and take on responsibilities.
