With a high school diploma in science with a focus on engineering, Pierre Rousseau enrolled in a preparatory program in physics and technology (PT) and discovered the engineering profession during his training . He then decided to pursue his studies at a technology school linked to industry: Arts et Métiers therefore the ideal school. Asan apprentice engineer, Pierre, who was not looking to work for a large corporation, is now employed by the SME Lièges HPK. This 30-person company specializes in technical cork products used in the construction, aerospace, and orthopedics sectors, offering him a diverse position with numerous responsibilities, which suits him just fine.
"My job is varied; I manage both short- and long-term projects. Development, maintenance, project management, installation of new machines, production, ongoing training—I never get bored because I do a bit of everything. This allows me to allows me to be versatile and gain new skills." He also has the opportunity to work on a research project developed by his company with Safran Power Units and AMValor, a subsidiary of Arts et Métiers.
I love being able to leave my job to come to class, knowing that I'll be back at work in a few weeks. I never get tired of it!
A rich experience that combines both professional experience and student life
Pierre Rousseau is delighted with his first two years, which have allowed him to directly apply the theoretical, technical, and interpersonal skills he acquired in class to a professional environment. Once he graduates, he will have three years of professional experience under his belt, which will be a major asset for the rest of his career.
