Throughout their studies, engineering students, Master of Science in Master of Science students, and doctoral candidatesArts et Métiers a variety of challenges: competitive exams, awards, and contests. And these experiences often open doors for them. Here’s a look back at the first half of 2018 with the winners at the Cluny campus andthe Institut Image.
This year has been a busy one for Arts et métiers students, who have won numerous competitions and awards, including Entrepreneuriales de Bourgogne or the public speaking competition. Let's take a look at this year's winners:
Entrepreneurship in Burgundy
There were two winners at this year's Bourgogne Entrepreneurship Awards: Cyril Lombard and Erwan Ouarti. Each in a different team, Cyril helped his team win the "jury's favorite" award with their oral congratulations. His project: personal coaching for people who are unsure about their career path, with company visits to help them define their career goals. As for Erwan, he won the "entrepreneurial journey" prize with his project to design and manufacture a prototype cap crossbow.
The Mayoux-Dauriac Prize Mayoux-Dauriac of the Société des Ingénieurs Arts et Métiers
This prize is awarded each year to recognize engineering students' interest in the language of Molière. It was presented to Alexandre Curtet. With a technical degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Lyon 1 University, he joined Arts et Métiers 2016. His performance on "la Force est avec moi" won over the jury.
The Alban Tixier Prize from the Arts et Métiers Foundation
The Arts et Métiers Foundation Arts et Métiers and the Wood team at LaBoMaP were impressed this year by the excellence of the3rd Year Expertise Project by Benoit Besseau. The project he was involved in at Bois Croisés de Bourgogne (BCB) aimed to promote the use of local secondary-quality oak in construction through the development of an innovative product: oak CLT. Today, he is anAMValorengineer in the MUB team at LaBoMaP and is about to start his PhD.
The Camille Mathieu Prize from the HandiTecAM Foundation
The HanditecAM Foundation rewards a successful project aimed at improving the daily lives of people with reduced mobility. The prize was awarded to Léopold Lanne. His association, Sano Celo, trains health services in 3D printing of prostheses and makes everyday life easier for people with disabilities in emerging countries.
The national competition "promoting professional ethics"
Lewis Andurand won two awards in the national professional ethics competition. He received first prize from DISTRICT 1750 (Burgundy-Champagne) and an honorable mention in the national competition for his essay on Ethics in Robotics: A Winding Road from Legitimacy to Morality.
