On March 31, three first-year students—Dorine Normand, El Mehdi Bardag, and Luis Miguel Ceballos—brilliantly defended their projectsat the Burgundy Entrepreneurship Competitionalongside their respective teams.

The engineering students did not leave empty-handed, as Luis Miguel and his teammates won the eco-design award for their GREEN TOP project: a concept for a self-sufficient vegetable garden.

We offer people living in urban areas the opportunity to have their own green space at home by providing them with a self-watering vegetable garden for their balcony, terrace, or rooftop and guiding them step by step through the process of managing their garden.

Dorine and El Mehdi, project leaders, were nominated for the Coup de Cœur award for the EDUTECH project: a company that creates scientific models.

They began their project in early November 2016 and worked on it for five months, putting in more than 150 hours of work.

As a reminder, Les Entrepreneuriales in Burgundy represents:

  • 44% of schools and 56% of universities,
  • 30 teams for 145 students,
  • 57% of project managers are women,
  • 100% of teams respected interdisciplinarity and 87% respected gender diversity.
  • Entrepreneurship is emphasized in the curriculum at 75% of participating institutions.

First-year engineering students successfully completed the challenge of developing a business creation project by creating their business model and business plan. They benefited from the support of a business mentor from the same sector, a professional coach, experts in various fields (lawyers, accountants, intellectual property specialists, etc.), and "tools" evenings to provide them with the knowledge they needed to complete the assignment. Luis Miguel's team was coached byPierre-Yves Dymarski, R&D project manager at Cérélab.
