From August 26 to September 1, 2018, Arts et Métiers 20 international students representing 11 different nationalities to spend a week learning about French lifestyle and culture. These students are enrolled at two institutions, Arts et Métiers the Paris Institute of Optics , starting in the fall of 2018. During their stay in Cluny, they will be staying with host families for total immersion.

An introduction to French culture...

This integration module is run by the European and International Relations Office at the Arts et Métiers Campus Arts et Métiers Cluny. It offers 20 international studentsworkshops led by trainers from AEFTI – EF 71 Mâcon. This year, students will focus on intercultural issues and methodology, culminating in a presentation to campus users and host families. The challenge for them will be to present the results of their work in French and in multicultural pairs to their host families.

Students are accommodated with host families selected by the Cluny International Conference Center, a partner in the operation. They will have the opportunity to visit Cluny Abbey and discover our expertise through workshops on the Cluny campus and the technical facilities atthe Image Institute in Chalon-sur-Saône, guided by teams of teacher-researchers.

For the ninth consecutive year, the Institut d'Optique has reaffirmed its confidence in this program by sending its own international students to Cluny. The two institutions welcome young people from all over the world: Russia, Argentina, Morocco, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, China, Brazil, and Colombia. At the end of the week, all participants will return to the Arts et Métiers Institut d'Optique campuses. This year, six students will continue their studies at the Cluny campus: one Polish student, one Czech student, one Slovakian student, two Romanian students, and one Hungarian student.
