MT180 2018 Invitation

For the fourth consecutive year, Arts et Métiers doctoral students are participating in the famous science popularization competition "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" (MT180). Their goal? To present their thesis work to a lay audience in just 180 seconds, and not a second more!

For several weeks, they trained with a theater teacher who helped them work on their lines, body language, and positioning on stage. The moment of truth has now arrived! Join them on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris to see their performance.

At the end of the evening, our candidates, along with those from CNAM andHESAM University, will be judged by a panel of professionals. Two of them will then go on to represent HESAM in the national semi-finals.

MT180, what is it?

My Thesis in 180 Seconds is inspired byThree Minute Thesis(3MT®), developed at the University of Queensland in Australia. The concept was adopted in 2012 in Quebec bythe Association francophone pour le savoir(Acfas), which wanted to extend the project to all French-speaking countries. The CNRS and the Conference of University Presidents (CPU) organize theMy Thesis in 180 Secondscompetition throughout France, which allows doctoral students to present their research topic in French and in simple terms to a diverse audience of non-specialists. Each student has three minutes to give a clear, concise, and convincing presentation of their research project. All with the support of a single slide!
