The term of office of the Executive Director ofArts et Métiers will end on February 26, 2027. As part of the process to renew the position for the 2027–2032 term, the organization is launching the recruitment process and providing details on how interested individuals can learn more about the responsibilities and challenges associated with this role.
The Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Space has announced that the position of Director General of the École nationale supérieure d’arts et métiers , will become vacant on February 26, 2027. The job posting is available HERE.
The timeline for the process allowing the Board of Directors ofArts et Métiers to issue an opinion on the nominations will be published on this page after it is approved by the board at its meeting on September 24, 2026.

1. Strategic Management and Governance
- Define and implement the school’s development and vision, in alignment with national and international challenges in higher education, research, and industry
- Chair the Executive Committee, which includes the deputy general managers (research, training, resources, management) as well as the heads of key departments (CSR, communications, etc.)
- Represent the school in dealings with third parties and enter into agreements and contracts
- Chair the Executive Committee, which includes the Executive Board, the campus directors, the chief financial officer, and the directors of the subsidiaries
- Chair the committees (Academic and Student Life Council, Scientific Council, and Regional Council) in coordination with the relevant deputy directors-general
- Organize social dialogue through employee representative bodies
- Ensure consistency among the various bodies
- Coordinate the relationship between the public institution and its subsidiaries by participating in their governing bodies
2. Training and Instructional Management
- Oversee program development (e.g., integration of new technologies, adaptation to industry needs, development of continuing education) in collaboration with the Deputy Director of Training
- Lead major educational projects, such as the ELF project (Evolutive Learning Factories), which aims to modernize technical facilities with digital tools and address environmental and societal challenges
- Ensuring academic excellence and aligning degree programs with the needs of businesses
3. Advancing Research and Innovation
- Oversee the school's research policy, in coordination with the Deputy Director General for Research and Innovation
- Promote partnerships with laboratories, companies, and institutions
- Supporting innovation and technology transfer to industry
4. Industrial Relations and Partnerships
- Manage relationships with strategic partners internationally (Morocco, Texas, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore)
- Strengthen ties with businesses ( large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and startups) for internships, work-study programs, applied research, and the recruitment of graduates
- Develop partnerships with business leaders and represent the school in professional organizations
5. Administrative, Financial, and Legal Management
- Oversee the school's budget and allocate resources based on strategic priorities
- Optimize campus management (logistics, real estate, facilities) and human resources
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Resolve Disputes
6. Outreach and Communication
- Promote the image ofArts et Métiers in France and internationally (e.g., rankings, agreements with foreign universities).
- Engage the community ( students, alumni, faculty, researchers) and highlight achievements (e.g., inclusion in international rankings, flagship projects).
- Develop communication initiatives to attract talent (students, faculty, researchers) and partners.
7. Social and Environmental Commitment
- Incorporate environmental and societal issues (transition and adaptation, diversity, equal opportunity) into the school’s strategy
- Lead initiatives that promote inclusion, career guidance for young people (particularly in industrial careers), and social responsibility
8. Contribute to the school’s supplemental funding
- Create the conditions necessary for successful responses to calls for proposals
- Determine how to use contributions from subsidiaries and funds
- Actively participate in sponsorship campaigns and efforts to collect the apprenticeship tax
