Arts et Métiers its first Sustainability Week from November 24 to 28, 2025, a week dedicated to raising awareness of the environmental impacts of digital technology and promoting more responsible practices in higher education.

Supported by the Digital Education Department, this event is part of the European GreenDiLT (Green Digital Learning and Teaching) project, carried out in collaboration with AgroParisTech, École des Ponts ParisTech, the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy, and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
The week's activities have also been certified by ADEME as part of European Waste Reduction Week (EWRW).

An inter-school initiative focused on responsible digital technology issues

For five days, the entire Arts et Métiers community—students, teachers, administrative and technical staff—was invited to learn about the environmental impact of digital technology and adopt simple measures to reduce its footprint.
Thanks to the involvement of GreenDiLT teams and ambassadors on campus, the week combined workshops, exhibitions, online challenges, and discussion sessions, bringing together several hundred participants.

Concrete actions on all campuses

Sustainability Week offered a wide variety of activities, spread across several locations:

  • Poster exhibition and resources

A poster campaign helped to explain the impact of digital technology and promote eco-friendly behaviors.
In Paris, this content was also presented at the library alongside the ADEME guide and dedicated publications.

  • GreenDiLT Challenge Quiz

Organized in cooperation with AgroParisTech and Les Ponts, this online inter-school challenge provided a fun way to test students' knowledge of digital sobriety.

  • Digital Footprint Calculator

Participants were able to estimate the impact of their daily habits (emails, cloud, streaming, etc.) using an interactive tool available on the various campuses.

  • Charity collection of computer equipment

Launched on campuses in Angers, Paris, Bordeaux, and Châlons-en-Champagne, the collection aims to give unused devices a second life.
This initiative is continuing this week in order to increase everyone's contribution.

  • Activities and workshops

Several formats enabled the issues to be addressed from an educational perspective:

  • Digital mural in Chambéry

  • GreenDiLT Academy game in Paris

  • Mini-conference in Aix-en-Provence

A collective effort for a sustainable digital transition

This first edition owes its success to the commitment of the teaching, technical, and administrative teams, as well as that of the GreenDiLT ambassadors present on campus.
