More than 300 engineering students from across the campus, representing all disciplines, had a great opportunity to boost their employability on February 27 during the 16th edition of the Engineers of Tomorrow Forum.
Twenty-seven large groups and SMEs from various sectors (transport, aeronautics, construction, consulting, energy, engineering, and business services) attended the Forum Ingénieurs Avenir to introduce students to their professions and activities and to find interns or future employees.
The Forum welcomed Airbus Helicopters, Assystem, CEA, KPC, Orano, Vinci Construction, and Vinci Energies, sponsors of the event, as well as Groupe ADF, Alten, Boccard, Capgemini, CMA CGM, CNIM, COLAS, EDF, Eiffage, Foselev, Framatome, Fauché, French Navy, Naval Group, SNEF, ST Microelectronics, Oresys, Ortec, Parlym, and Technicatome.
Companies are increasingly interested in this type of event as a way to identify the talent of tomorrow and attract the most promising candidates. For them, these meetings are a strategic opportunity to enhance their appeal and visibility and to forge lasting relationships with students on campus.
Maintain strong ties with local businesses
In his welcome speech, the campus director emphasized that " this forum provides a unique opportunity for students and local industry representatives to exchange ideas. It reflects the relationship of trust that exists between our institution and local businesses and demonstrates our commitment to promoting the professional integration of our students. "
This forum is therefore fully in line with the institution's strategy to enhance the employability of its students and strengthen the bridges between academia and industry.
For the organizing team, it was a matter of meeting both an organizational and financial challenge and maintaining the strong ties that students have with businesses.
A positive outcome for this intense and educational day
"Organizing this forum allowed us to develop project management skills such as team management, cost and deadline management, and logistics, as well as communication skills with the invited companies, students, and administration," " explain organizers Antoine Boisard and Timothée Trial, second-year engineering students in the Grande École Program.
The program for this intense day included booths, business lunches, conferences, workshops, and company presentations. Students had the opportunity to talk directly with major industry players, structure their career paths and refine their choices, and obtain valuable advice for their career plans. Some even secured interviews for internships, further reinforcing the concrete impact of the event.
The companies, for their part, expressed enthusiasm for the students' dynamism and motivation. They said they had met some very interesting candidates who could be joining their teams in the near future!
