From April 7 to 9, 55 coaches, business leaders, startup founders, and executives from major corporations will be on hand to support the 150 first-year students of the Grande Ecole Engineering Programme the third edition of JITCAM.

What is a business game at Arts et Métiers?

It means brainstorming about an innovative project, product, or service related to themes proposed by our partners and sponsors. EDF, Région Sud, Pépite Provence and VINCI Energies.

A scenario for first-year students

Entrepreneurship is one of the key skills for engineering students. Arts et Métiers, a prestigious engineering school, implements numerous initiatives throughout the three-year Grande Ecole Engineering Programme engineering degree, ranging from raising awareness to project development (including a specialized track in the second year and a focus on expertise in the third year).

These specific actions are carried out internally (expertise of laboratories, teachers, researchers) but also with the support of the campus ecosystem (Pépite Provence, incubators, etc.).

Awareness-raising begins in the first year of the study cycle.

The aim is to enable students to discover this career path and, if they wish, to explore an idea or project in more depth in their second or third year. This makes it possible, on the one hand, to identify or detect future entrepreneurs who will be supported as they progress, but also to provide all students with key skills that are sought after by companies and that they can reinvest in their future career choices.

Societal themes to address the challenges of tomorrow

Three days to promote innovation by addressing societal and environmental issues proposed by our partners and sponsors "Engineers serving the planet":

  • Transportation
  • Resource management
  • Services of tomorrow
  • Ecological transition
  • Smart building

On the agenda

JITCAM 2022 has the same format as previous editions, but was preceded by monthly workshops allowing students to learn key concepts in advance, particularly regarding ideation, in order to be more effective during JITCAM.

- Moving from concept to project over the course of the event (3 days)
- Organized into 30 teams of 5 engineering students (150 first-year students in the Grande Ecole Engineering Programme) to engage in a collaborative creative process
- Support from 55 experts and professionals
- Lectures and workshops on key aspects of project creation
- Pitches to juries
- A final jury and awards ceremony for the winning teams (Saturday, April 9, 5:30–7:00 p.m.), attended by Renaud Muselier’s representative, Ludovic Perney, Vice President for Youth, Sports, and Student Life in the PACA Region, as well as representatives from EDF, VINCI Energies, and Pépite Provence.
