What is your role in the student union?
As President of the Student Union (UE), my role is to liaise between the various Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers the presidents of the AE (student associations), to represent Gadzarts students in dealings with the UE and official bodies (school administration, SOCE, BNEI, Ministry, etc.), but also to coordinate the UE team and ensure its cohesion to make it as effective as possible by providing an overall view of situations.
What activities does the student union organize?
The Union des Élèves Arts et Métiers one of the largest student associations in France in terms of size (3,500 members) and annual operating budget (€6.8 million). Our mission is to represent, support, unite, and bring to life all Gadzarts students. To do this, we are involved in various student life projects at the national level or directly on certain campuses. These projects include SKZ (Ski aux Arts), the largest student ski gathering in Europe, the Arts et Métiers Forum, the Grandes UAI, and the Student Committee.
Why did you choose to get involved in this association?
Since arriving at Arts, I have been driven by the desire to give my all to my class, and this has been reflected in the various responsibilities I have taken on and the different projects I have completed over the last two years. In keeping with this, it was only natural that I wanted to support and represent all Gadzarts students in France, this time by running for the role of President of the EU.
What does becoming president of this association mean to you?
It makes me feel proud. By electing me, my classmates have placed their trust in me to represent them, and I will do everything in my power not to disappoint them.
What are your future plans within the association?
One of the projects closest to my heart is working hand in hand with the school's senior management to refine the Arts et Métiers curriculum Arts et Métiers meet the needs of the industries of the future while aligning with the aspirations of the students.
What do you think about gender equality in engineering? How do you experience it on a daily basis in your studies?
Although gender parity in engineering remains far from satisfactory, women are increasingly taking their place alongside men, and we are getting closer to the expected percentage every year. This is also reflected in our training programs, where women, although still in the minority, are becoming more numerous every year.
