Richard Béarée took up his post on January 1, 2021, as director of LISPEN, a laboratory that brings together the expertise of faculty members from the Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers , Cluny (Image Institute in Chalon-sur-Saône), and Lille in the field of multi-physical and virtual dynamic systems for the industry of the future.
A university professor in automation and robotics, Richard Béarée joined Arts et Métiers 2002. His field of research, initially focused on the control of high-dynamic production machines, quickly shifted towards applications in robotics and industrial cobotics.
During these years, his activities as a teacher-researcher were supported by the development of a technological platform called "Usine Agile," which he helped to strengthen and resource by setting up and providing scientific and administrative support for numerous collaborative projects.
He was also involved in developing and leading training programs on the Lille campus. He participated in the development of 3rd-year specialization in "Mechatronic Systems for Industrial Innovation" of the Grande Ecole program in 2014 and created the Specialized Master's Degree® in Collaborative Robotics Expertise for the Industry of the Future in 2016.
As director of LISPEN, Richard Béarée aims to develop the appeal and influence of the laboratory, whose research topics are already in line with many of the challenges associated with digital transformation and the development of methods and technologies that embody the industry of the future.
He will be assisted by two deputy site directors, Lionel Roucoules for the Aix-en-Provence campus and Frédéric Merienne for the image institute in Chalon-sur-Saône, which is linked to the Cluny campus.
