As part of the energy research meetings in the Hauts-de-France region, Frédéric Colas, a research engineer on the Distributed Energy platform at the Lille campus, took part in a video pitch to present L2EP's research activities on smart electricity transmission networks and energy conversion using new methods.

After presenting smart electricity transmission grids and the new conversion methods used in these types of grids, Frédéric Colas discusses the practical applications of this research: facilitating the integration of renewable energies and direct current into existing grids. Frédéric Colas also discusses the environmental and economic challenges addressed by L2EP's research, as it helps improve the energy mix in France and Europe and has enabled the laboratory to participate in European research programs.

Nine video testimonials, partly funded by the region, were produced by the Energy 2020 cluster and presented at Energy Day, which took place in early December. This event, organized by DAS Energie and the Energy 2020 cluster, aims to bring together industrialists and scientists. The goal? To spark dialogue and create a platform for exchange, while encouraging laboratories to take into account the needs of businesses and inviting the latter to discover new fields of application through the work carried out by the laboratories.
