6,000 protective visors produced per week across the eight campuses

Under the leadership of Nicolas Perry (I2M laboratory) in Bordeaux, a visor model was designed in collaboration with the intensive care unit at Bordeaux University Hospital and distributed to other Arts et Métiers laboratories. To date, the teams mobilized on campus, with the support of students who manufacture visors directly from their homes in more than twenty cities, are capable of producing 6,000 protective visors per week.

Our eight campuses are located throughout the country. If you need visors, contact your nearest campus! (contact details at the bottom of the page)

If you have a 3D printer, the manufacturing diagrams are freely available, so you can make the protective visors yourself.

Valves for ventilators intended for COVID-19 patients in intensive care

The Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux-Talence and the I2M laboratory coordinated a project to design valves for ventilators intended for use in intensive care units. Developed in partnership with and at the request of Bordeaux University Hospital and numerous manufacturers in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, this system helps to alleviate the shortage of this type of medical equipment needed for intubation, enabling oxygenation of the patient and clearing their bronchial tubes.
