Etienne Tricot is a graduate Arts et Métiers. After starting his career in the railway industry, he and his partner decided to become entrepreneurs and took over a microbrewery in Lille.

After completing a preparatory class for the grandes écoles at the Lycée Wallon in Valenciennes, Etienne Tricot enrolled at Arts et Métiers the Lille campus. "It was a meeting with Mr. Marcotte, founder of the LIL Marcotte microbrewery, that made up our minds.  We took over the microbrewery and are now co-managers of LIL Brasserie, founded in 2017." LIL Brasserie is currently expanding, with plans to grow in mainland France and the Hauts-de-France region.
