Thesis defense byAnne-Laure Lebaudy, doctoral student at the LEM3 laboratory: "Multi-scale analysis of deformations and stresses within an infrared detection matrix operating at 100K. Experimental and numerical characterization."

The current approach to improving the reliability of multilayer electronic assemblies is finite element modeling. Although commonly used, this method often only provides average information, even though variations of a few MPa are already critical for certain components that fail in service. The assembly considered in this thesis is an infrared detection matrix operating at cryogenic temperatures close to 100K. The objective is to fully understand the mechanical state induced by the manufacturing process and the operating temperature, and its impact on in-service performance. The assembly was first completely characterized [...]"
