On October 13 and 14, 2026, four students from the Bordeaux-Talence “ Arts et Métiers ” campus participated in the second edition of the Lab TBMouv! hackathon, dedicated to the future of mobility. Alongside 53 students from various institutions in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, they took on the challenge of devising innovative solutions for urban transportation. This educational experience allowed them to apply their engineering skills while winning two awards.

The ability to turn ideas into concrete solutions

Bringing together 53 students divided into 10 multidisciplinary teams, the TBMouv! hackathon once again demonstrated the value of collaborative work on innovative projects. Over the course of two days, participants were invited to examine current uses, explore new approaches, and propose concrete solutions to the mobility challenges of the future.

For Pauline Gautier, Director of Projects & Innovation at Keolis Bordeaux Métropole Mobilités, it is precisely this fresh perspective that makes the event so valuable. “Each edition brings immense joy to the organizers: the joy of seeing students challenge assumptions, question approaches that are sometimes deeply ingrained in our business units, and offer a fresh perspective on mobility challenges.”

Among the students present, those from the “Arts et Métiers ” consistently stand out for their approach. According to her, they occupy “a special place” within their teams thanks to their ability to combine creativity, pragmatism, and a design-oriented approach. “As true pillars of their teams, they stand out for their unwavering commitment to transforming an idea into a concrete solution, all the way to the prototype.”

According to the manager, this quality illustrates the depth of their training: understanding complex issues, rallying around a solution, and, above all, moving from concept to implementation. “Their presence on the teams often makes all the difference, ” she emphasizes.

Two awards recognizing the students' dedication

The 2026 edition was also marked by the performances of the students from Arts et Métiers. Ismaël Bajjou, Antoine Beaupere, Victoria Kim Lossouarn, and Lucas Bernard did the Bordeaux-Talence campus proud. Antoine Beaupere won the Student Award, whileIsmaël Bajjou’s team was awarded the Action Award.

These accolades reflect the very positive feedback from the partners in attendance at the event. Erell Chandellier, Director of Asset Maintenance at KB2M and a former student at Arts et Métiers, said she was “very impressed by the participation and dedication of all the students involved.”

True to her perspective as a former Gadzart, she particularly appreciated the approach taken by the students Arts et Métiers : “They lived up to their reputation and the values of their education: inventive and pragmatic.” She specifically highlighted their ability to propose concrete and clear solutions, as well as to bring their ideas to life by building prototypes. “Enthusiasm, team spirit, and a focus on the final result—well done, everyone!”

Beyond the prizes, this type of event serves as a valuable complement to engineering education. Hackathons provide an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world problems, foster interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork, and gain insight into the expectations and methods of the professional world. It is a particularly enriching experience that prepares future engineers for the challenges of their profession.
