Third-year students studying ISYNUC (Nuclear Systems Engineering: Operation and Management) at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille had the opportunity to attend the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE), the leading international trade show for the nuclear industry, on Thursday, November 6, at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.
The World Nuclear Exhibition: An immersion into the heart of the nuclear industry
Third-year studentsstudying ISYNUC – Nuclear Systems Engineering: Operation and Management program at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille had the opportunity to participate, alongside a few students from Polytech Lille, in the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE), the leading international trade show for the nuclear industry, on Thursday, November 6, at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center.
Organized by GIFEN (Groupement des Industriels Français de l’Énergie Nucléaire), WNE brings together all players in the nuclear value chain: manufacturers, institutions, contractors, start-ups, and international partners.
A day full of exchanges and discoveries
During their visit, the students, invited by EDF, sponsor of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille and a major partner of ISYNUC, were welcomed at the Job & Training Village corner, then at the NUCLÉI Hauts-de-France stand.
This regional collective stand brings together companies and players in the nuclear industry in the Hauts-de-France region in a single space, showcasing the region's industrial expertise. Students were able to attend themed conferences, discover the innovations shaping the industry, and talk directly with professionals in the sector.
A unique opportunity to observe, understand, and immerse yourself in the dynamics of a rapidly evolving field.
A concrete opportunity for tomorrow's engineers
For students, this immersion in the industrial world represents a concrete learning experience:
- understand current energy issues
- identify emerging innovations and technologies
- build direct relationships with industry stakeholders
- understand the complexity of a strategic and demanding sector.
A structured partnership dedicated to training
This initiative is part of the partnership thatArts et Métiers to sign with EDF and the Université des Métiers du Nucléaire (UMN), in support of the creation of the new ISYNUC expertise program, which began last September.
This partnership confirms the shared desire to strengthen training and enhance the appeal of nuclear-related careers among young engineers.
EDF, a long-standing partner of the campus and a major player in the program, actively contributes to training through the involvement of its experts and to the professional integration of students. For its part, UMN supports the rollout of the "Nuclear Passport," a national label that recognizes commitment and skills development in the sector.
A big thank you to EDF and the Université des Métiers du Nucléaire for their commitment and support in making this new expertise a success, helping to train the engineers of tomorrow.
