After holding several senior positions in various higher education institutions, Radjesvarane Alexandre will become director of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny, effective September 1, 2025. He succeeds Michel Jauzein, who is retiring after eight years at the helm of the campus.

His career

Radjesvarane Alexandre holds a PhD in applied mathematics from Sorbonne University, obtained in 1993, and specializes in numerical analysis and the homogenization of transport equations. In 2000, he obtained his accreditation to supervise research (HDR) at the University of Orleans.

He began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Orleans, then at the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne. In 2007, he joined Arts et Métiers a university professor, where he co-directed the Naval Academy Research Institute (IRENAV) until 2011. At the same time, he taught at the Institute of Natural Sciences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University between 2010 and 2013.

He then continued his involvement in international academic cooperation by becoming, in 2013, delegate for education and international relations at ParisTech. Two years later, he took over as head of research, innovation, and technology transfer at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).

Since 2018, Radjesvarane Alexandre has been head of EISTI, now CY Tech, an engineering school with campuses in Cergy and Pau. He was academic director from September 2018 before becoming managing director in January 2019.

With extensive experience in higher education, engineering training, and student life management, he will take up his position as director of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny on September 1, 2025. Michel Jauzein, his predecessor, will work alongside him to ensure a smooth transition until the end of the calendar year.
"I want to ensure the continuity of the projects initiated by my predecessor Michel Jauzein in order to guarantee their sustainability. I also intend to consolidate existing partnerships and develop new ones with businesses and cultural actors who share our remarkable site in Cluny, while involving all the different communities: teachers, teacher-researchers, administrative staff, students, alumni, etc.," says Radjesvarane Alexandre.

"These eight years spent managing the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny have been rich in discoveries, projects, achievements, and human adventures. Real estate projects have enabled the renovation of the student residence and the cloister of Cluny Abbey. The workshops now have a photovoltaic roof and renovated and re-equipped technological platforms. The campus's regional roots have expanded from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to Chambéry and Saint-Etienne in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Training, research, and development activities have continued to grow, and the dynamism of student life has been supported to better reflect positively on the city of Cluny and the Clunisois region. I would like to thank all the staff and students who have made these projects possible and who are ready to respond to the new advances that will be driven by the new director. Finally, I have been able to take some more personal action to promote biodiversity in the abbey park and water sharing in the Clunisois region. These initiatives enable the campus to make a significant contribution toArts et Métiers action planArts et Métiers sustainable development and social responsibility," says Michel Jauzein.
