On Monday, June 16, the Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers , Châlons-en-Champagne, and Paris gathered at the headquarters of Heidelberg Materials France to sign a sponsorship renewal agreement for the next three years. This renewal marks the continuation of a collaboration that began in 2022 for the Angers and Châlons-en-Champagne campuses, and is further enhanced by the addition of the Paris campus.
A strategic and sustainable partnership, rooted in the regions
This renewal of sponsorship is part of a strategic vision shared by Arts et Métiers Heidelberg Materials France: to train responsible engineers who are ready to take on the challenges of the industry of the future and promote innovation.
For the School, through its three campuses involved, this collaboration strengthens its regional roots and its relationships with key industrial players, while for Heidelberg Materials France, it represents an opportunity to attract and train the talent of tomorrow, thereby meeting the specific needs of the group, a major player in the construction materials sector.
A rich collaboration with the Airvault site and the Angers campus
The Airvault site in Deux-Sèvres, one of Heidelberg Materials France's main cement plants in France, actively supports the Angers campus. This partnership involves initiatives that immerse students in industrial and environmental issues. They were able to visit the Airvault site, which is currently undergoing modernization, attend a workshop on the transformation of the cement industry, and participate in a presentation on decarbonization led by Bruno Manivet, site director. Students also had the opportunity to talk to the company during the recruitment forum organized on campus and discover possible career opportunities.
The company also participates in mock job interviews to help students better prepare for their professional future. Highlights such as business lunches, sponsor mornings, and a cement molding workshop with second-year students allow them to connect theory and practice while discovering the professions and innovations in the sector. To maintain this momentum, initiatives will be regularly implemented to sustain exchanges between the Airvault site and the campus.
Concrete exchanges with the Couvrot site and the Châlons-en-Champagne campus
Since 2022, the Châlons-en-Champagne campus has been strengthening its ties with the Couvrot site in Marne, one of the group's most modern cement plants, through initiatives that give students hands-on experience, such as factory tours that allow them to discover the stages of cement production.
During the recruitment forum organized on campus, students were able to meet members of the Couvrot team (HR and maintenance) and discover career opportunities. Group employees also visited the campus to present the sector and raise student awareness of the environmental challenges facing the cement industry today.
Over the next three years, new initiatives (raising awareness of entrepreneurship, climate fresco, educational activities, etc.) will strengthen the links between Heidelberg Materials France and the campus, with a view to providing the best possible support for students' training and professional integration.
A new dynamic with the Paris campus
After three years of sponsorship, the Paris campus is joining the Angers and Châlons-en-Champagne campuses in their partnership with Heidelberg Materials France. Starting in the fall, the group will also be working with Parisian students in the Grande École Program through several initiatives, including:
- Participation in events dedicated to patrons organized on campus,
- Interventions in APE (Professional Student Support) modules for second- and third-year students, or even
- Participation in a thematic round table discussion.
A great opportunity for students to learn about the challenges facing the industry and talk directly with professionals in the sector.
Bruno Pillon, President of Heidelberg Materials France: "Renewing this partnership was an obvious choice for us. We want to make a Arts et Métiers commitment to Arts et Métiers . The last three years have shown the benefits of working closely together, and I am convinced that the coming years will allow us to further strengthen our ties by continuing the positive momentum we have built."
Laurent Champaney, Managing Director Arts et Métiers " Arts et Métiers delighted to renew this partnership with Heidelberg Materials France in the service of building materials production in France. Decarbonizing the associated manufacturing processes is a major challenge that warrantsArts et Métiers Heidelberg Materials France joining forces to guide young engineers toward these high-impact professions."
