Training courses

Congratulations to Martin Bachschmidt, Alexandre Fuzelier, and Corentin Mourer, first-year students in the Mechanical Engineering and Smart Manufacturing Engineering Program, who won a bronze trophy in the "Je filme ma formation" (I film my education) competition.

A project born out of a shared passion

The idea to enter this competition came from Martin, who managed to get his friends on board for the adventure. "As an amateur photographer, I was intrigued, even though video isn't my field," says Corentin. Martin, who is passionate about video, wanted above all to showcase the training program while involving his friends: "I wanted to showcase our specialty through a joint project." Alexandre, for his part, saw it as a great opportunity to learn and progress in his field. "My ambition is to launch a professional photography project, and this competition offered me a chance to gain experience," he emphasizes.

Their goal? To create a dynamic video that showcases the school and their training, but also to develop their digital skills.

Challenges to be overcome

The project quickly revealed the challenges of organization. Martin took charge of the camera, Alexandre the sound, and Corentin the lighting. However, their time constraints often forced them to film in pairs. "Managing a project like this is far from easy, especially at the beginning," says Corentin. "Everyone contributes their ideas, and you have to quickly establish a framework to reach an agreement." For the team, the main challenge was agreeing on every aspect of the video and making decisions collectively. "We had to discuss a lot and make concessions so that everyone could be happy with the final result," adds Alexandre, while emphasizing the richness that this diversity of viewpoints brought to the project.

A project supported by everyone

The support of AMTalents, their teachers, and classmates was essential throughout the project. "Our classes got involved, and Sébastien Soulas, IGE Technical Assistance Teaching Research, and Jesus Ochoa Robles, training manager, really supported us. Others even agreed to let us film during their classes," they explain. This project allowed them to develop both their technical skills and their team spirit. Alexandre emphasizes the importance of rigor and listening, while Corentin highlights collective learning and group project management. Their conclusion is unanimous: "Working with friends on such a stimulating project is motivating and enriching. Rigor and collaboration were essential in helping us surpass ourselves."

A ceremony at the Grand REX

After a month of work, the three students, accompanied by Coline Moal Vignon, director of AMTalents, Sébastien Soulas, and Jesus Ochoa Robles, traveled to Paris to attend the awards ceremony at the Grand REX. Selected from more than 600 videos, they were awarded a bronze trophy! "The awards ceremony was exceptional, the room was almost full and several celebrities were in attendance. Overall, the standard was high, with the first prizes clearly in a different league," says Martin. "We're all happy with the result we achieved in just one month of work. It motivates us to sign up again next year, with the desire to aim higher and surpass ourselves once more." "It was very stressful," confides Alexandre. "Seeing the line of 2,600 people in the street was already impressive... but the inside of the Grand Rex was even more so. Being selected to come to the Grand Rex and leave with a prize, whatever it may be, is pretty cool." Their film, ranked among the top 15 to 20% of the winning projects, stood out and showcased their specialty. It was a memorable experience that they won't soon forget!

Their next challenges? Participating in the school's internal competition, "Mes Arts, mon film" (My Arts, My Film), and preparing their new production for the next edition of the "Je filme ma formation" (I Film My Education) competition!
