Cordées de la réussite: The Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille joins the program
Les Cordées de la réussite, a lever for equal opportunities
Les Cordées de la réussite aims to make career guidance a real lever for equal opportunities.
The aim is to combat self-censorship and stimulate students' academic ambition through continuous support from the eighth grade through to the baccalaureate. In this way, they contribute to the fight against social and regional inequalities by introducing greater social equity in access to higher education. They enable students to develop and implement a career plan.
This ongoing support, which is provided gradually in the run-up to career choices, enables everyone to succeed in building their career path, whether that involves continuing their studies or entering the workforce.
Organization of the "Cordées de la réussite" program on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille
A Success Team is based on a partnership between:
• A "lead" institution, in this case the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille
• Institutions known as "strings," middle schools and high schools offering general, technological, or vocational education, which are more specifically part of priority education networks, priority neighborhoods in urban policy, or rural areas far from metropolitan areas.
For the first year, Maxime Kuchinski and Michaël Debarge, the two teachers behind the project, pulled out all the stops for the launch of the program! The Lille campus welcomed around 200 high school and middle school students from 14 participating schools, which is a particularly ambitious undertaking for a first edition!
"We have partnered with schools in the Lille European Metropolis, but also with schools in rural areas, further away from campus and more isolated, which we have approached. The aim is to show students at these institutions that the Arts et Métiers campus is accessible Arts et Métiers , not only because the school is public and has low tuition fees, but also because it is well served by public transport and accessible by train," explain Michaël Debarge and Maxime Kuchinski.
