Develop team spirit, a taste for research, and engineering skills

The Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz has been hosting the academic final of the Engineering Science Olympiad for several years. This academic and national competition was created in 2009 on the initiative of the Union of Industrial Science and Technology Teachers (UPSTI). It aims to develop an interest in engineering sciences among high school students.

"The Engineering Science Olympiads are an opportunity to showcase young high school students through the presentation of their science and technology projects" - Stéphane Fontaine, Director of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Metz

The Engineering Science Olympiad is open to high school students in their junior and senior years (specializing in SI and STI2D) at public and private general and technical high schools under contract. The aim is to evaluate and reward multi-technology experimental projects in industrial engineering sciences and to develop students' initiative, taste for research, and engineering skills.

Arts et Métiers inspiring young people to pursue careers in engineering

In addition to selecting the winners of the Nancy-Metz academic final, Arts et Métiers students and alumni Arts et Métiers advantage of the opportunity to organize their "business forum." The goal was to foster numerous valuable and enriching exchanges between high school students, Arts et Métiers students and alumni Arts et Métiers companies in the engineering sector. The high school students in attendance were able to learn about the engineering profession by talking with representatives from Safran, Colas Nord Est, Eurovia Alsace Lorraine, Mibelle Group, Framatome, Constantini, Signature, and others.

"It's really interesting to discover all these companies. I got to meet several that I didn't know at all, including the construction company Viry, which I really liked. Some of us even got to talk about our search for internships or work-study programs." - Mathis, first-year engineering student at Lycée Boutet de Monvel (Lunéville)

"The business forum is a great opportunity for us. We were able to talk about our project [mobile construction site blocks] to a few companies in attendance, and Signature even offered to come and take a look at our proposal!" - Clara, senior specializing in information systems at Loritz High School (Nancy)
