Open Innovation challenges for first-yearstudents in the Grande Ecole program have been taking place on campuses since the end of September.

The goal of the challenges organized on campus forfirst-yearstudentsin the Grande Ecole programis to raise awareness among future engineers about technological innovation and encourage them to pursue careers in entrepreneurship.

Challenges in Aix, Bordeaux, Cluny, and Lille

"In Cluny, we decided with Agnès Bourg, a teacher, to set up an initiative involving several companies,"explainsJean-Rémy Chardonnet, coordinator of the Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Program (PEIT).These manufacturers will propose innovation topics to our students, who will work on them in teams throughout the day on September 22. At the end of the day, the teams will present their proposals in three minutes. The best projects will receive prizes."
Similar initiatives are also taking place in Aix, Lille, and Bordeaux, and will be rolled out to other campuses a little later.

Workshops in Metz and Châlons-en-Champagne

An entrepreneurship discovery day was also organized on both campuses in the Grand Est region.
The program was the same in the morning. A presentation was given on all Arts et Métiers entrepreneurship programs (PEIT, CREDA, CLENAM). 

On the Châlons campus, two campus patrons then gave lectures related to the theme:

The afternoon was filled with various workshops:

  • workshops related to Smart Cities (Metz)
  • TheAMJE Châlons : students had to choose a company and carry out a S.W.O.T (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis.
  • PEPITE Champagne-Ardenne : the speaker discussed creativity and business models
  • Entrepreneur coffee with alumni (Châlons)
  • Laser engraving and cutting in the newFabLab on the Châlons campus

In Metz, the event was organized in partnership with CaMéX-IA Grand Est (Campus des métiers et des qualifications) and PEEL.

An opportunity to discover your entrepreneurial spirit

 "For students, it's an opportunity to discover their entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial spirit," smiles Sandra Cologne, Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. They can then apply for the Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Program offered by Arts et Métiers. This optional course is open to all students, from all campuses and all programs (PGE, work-study, bachelor's, doctoral students, etc.) and allows them to acquire skills in technological innovation and entrepreneurship(more information)."

Please note: next February, all campuses will be able to take part in the international challenge organized by our American partner university TAMU: Invent For The Planet (more information).
