Wednesday June 1 saw theinauguration of the Collaborative Workspace for Engineering Sciences on the Châlons-en-Champagne campus.
Around 80 people attended the opening speeches given by Giovanni Radilla, Campus Director, Laurent Champaney, Managing Director Arts et Métiers Sabine Galicher, Departmental Councilor for Marne and representative of Christian Bruyen, President of the Marne Department.

"In line with our commitment to our funders, this space is intended to be open to pupils and students from other institutions in the Marne region in order to promote technological training from middle school through to doctoral level," Giovanni Radilla.
" With this new tool—and soon with the casting press—the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Châlons-en-Champagne is becoming a benchmark campus in terms of educational experience for students. That's why people come to visit it! For example, in 15 days, the director of the future Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Rabat, Morocco, will be in Châlons to draw inspiration from the campus's teaching practices, " Laurent Champaney.
"This new workspace is particularly exciting because it will benefit not only this campus but also our entire region," Sabine Galicher.
After the inaugural speeches, Mr. Radilla, Mr. Champaney, and Ms. Galicher cut the ribbon.
Next, visits to the FabLab, library, and multimedia studio began began! In the left wing of the building, demonstrations were carried out by our learners, for example, one of the FANUC robots drew the school logo.
The event concluded concluded with a cocktail reception in the council chamber, where everyone had the opportunity to chat.

What is the Collaborative Workspace in Engineering Sciences?
A multifunctional space dedicated to student creativity, engineering, and entrepreneurship, this new facility complements the offerings of the Châlons-en-Champagne campus.
It brings together:
- A library with 77 seats. The historical collection is available, as well as a self-service computer room with 12 workstations, each equipped with two screens. Three large touch screens facilitate collaborative work;
- Brainstorming rooms equipped with large touchscreens;
- A FabLab with 5 plastic filament 3D printers, a resin 3D printer, a digital embroidery machine, 2 laser cutting and engraving machines, a vinyl cutting machine, a room dedicated to electronics and a coworking room with 3 robots, including two collaborative robots and two large touch screens;
- A multimedia studio for promoting projects through photo reports and video pitches;
- A meeting room equipped with a collaborative video projector and a large touch screen. It is designed for presentations, cocktail parties, etc.
This space is designed to welcome students from all backgrounds:
- Middle schools: ninth-grade students;
- High schools: students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and in post-baccalaureate programs, in general, scientific, and technological streams;
- Higher education institutions: students in scientific, technological, and technical fields.
A valuable tool for collaboration with businesses, this space will enableArts et Métiers studentsArts et Métiers stimulate their ingenuity and talent in solving industrial problems, develop entrepreneurial skills, and participate in competitions and challenges in multidisciplinary teams, such as the recent Design Challenge, a competition involving 48 hours of work on an innovative topic proposed by an industrialist.
Housed in a completely renovated building on campus, this new space reflects the school's strong ties and openness to the city of Châlons-en-Champagne.
Project funded under the CRSD by the Department of Marne, the FNADT (National Fund for Regional Development and Planning) and Arts et Métiers.
