Laurent Champaney has been reappointed as CEO ofArts et Métiers for a five-year term, starting on February 27, 2022. He intends to put the ELF 4.0 project "at the service of future leaders and companies that will shape France's industrial landscape in 2030."
This new mandate will be structured around four dynamics
- Developing the Arts et Métiers identity Arts et Métiers the ELF4.0 project
TheEvolutive Learning Factories ELF4.0) Arts et Métiers project Arts et Métiers to gradually enhance existing tools with new industrial technologies, digital technology, environmental issues, and societal issues. Launched in 2021, this project is the priority for the upcoming term.
The goal is for campuses to develop their ELF projects over the next five years and integrate these new tools into all their courses.
- Developing the institution's environmental and social responsibility
Laurent Champaney wants the institution to continue integrating environmental and societal aspects into its culture and operations. A major objective is to obtain the "Sustainable Development & Social Responsibility" label for ESR institutions in 2023, following on from the signing of the Grenoble Agreement on January 31, 2021.
Arts et Métiers train its students in reducing the environmental impact of industrial activities and developing carbon-free energies and, more generally, in managing socially responsible industrial activities.
- Attract and train more talent
With a goal of bringing in 50% more talent by 2027 to build the industrial France of 2030 (by diversifying backgrounds and attracting high-potential profiles), Laurent Champaney wants to developArts et Métiers training capabilities inArts et Métiers initial trainingArts et Métiers lifelong learning, while maintaining the excellence of its degrees. Among the avenues being explored are the development of apprenticeships and academic partnerships that will complement Arts et Métiers offering Arts et Métiers its research potential.
- Better support industrial companies in their development.
With the ambition of helping to develop France's innovative industrial companies of 2030 , Arts et Métiers positioning Arts et Métiers to better support them: the youngest among them in their start-up phase and the most established in their international development. To this end, the school is committed to:
- Encouraging industrial research in support of France 2030
- Welcoming industrial startups to all campuses
- Expand the business support activities led by AMValor and AMTalents, drawing on its strategic partnerships.
Renewed confidence from the board of directors reinforces positive results for 2017-2022
Over the past five years, the institution has been significantly strengthened in terms of training, research, organization, real estate assets, and partnerships. And the Carnot ARTS label, representingArts et Métiers expertiseArts et Métiers partnership-based research, has been renewed.
According to Laurent Champaney: "The creation of the Arts et Métiers group Arts et Métiers now complete. This gives the institution the necessary agility in its relations with industrial companies, as well as enabling it to attract new resources to finance its projects. The results are clear: Arts et Métiers been included in international rankings and has joined the Centrale-Supelec competition for scientific CPGE programs; the public authorities have entrusted it with major projects as part of the Recovery Plan and the PIA4."
