Since its creation in 2007,American Friends of Arts et Métiers AFAM) has acted as a catalyst for the Gadzarts community in the United States. Its goal is to support Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers wish to do an internship in the United States, to energize the Gadzarts community in the United States, and to promote the school!
The SHASTA Program: valuable support for Arts et Métiers students
Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers complete an internship in the United States can benefit from the SHASTA program. The aim of the program? To support students in their search for an internship by advising them on their career plans and putting them in touch with mentors (alumni working in the sector that interests the student). Every year, around 20 students benefit from the SHASTA program.
Students already on internships in the United States are eligible for the SHASTA scholarship to help them settle into the country. Between two and five students receive this scholarship each year.
Actions to promote the School and the careers of Gadzarts living in the United States
With around 800 alumni living and working in the United States, AFAM regularly profiles these Gadzarts, which are then posted on the AFAM blog. The aim is to highlight their career paths and help students at the school refine their career plans. Four series of interviews have already been published:

Due to the health crisis, it is currently no longer possible for students to obtain a VISA to do an internship in the United States. However, AFAM remains available to advise students on their career plans.
