Arts et Métiers established close ties with partner institutions. We spoke with Fatima Ezzahra EL MOUJOUD, a second-year student in the Grande Ecole Engineering Programme the Angers Campus who is pursuing a dual degree with ENSAM Meknes.

A childhood dream come true

Having arrived in early September, Fatima Ezzahra still can't believe she was accepted into Arts et Métiers. "It's a childhood dream come true," she explains, visibly moved. Born in Morocco in 1999, Fatima Ezzahra studied French in high school as part of an international program. Already top of her class in middle school, she passed the selection process to join this program and continued on her path by choosing the mathematics B track, which includes courses in physics, engineering science, and mathematics. "I've always loved math and engineering, so I wanted to continue my studies in that direction. " So, with her high school diploma in hand, she sought to enroll in Arts et Métiers discovered ENSAM Meknes in Morocco!

After two years of integrated preparatory classes at this school, Fatima Ezzahra, who is very interested in renewable energies, chose to pursue her first engineering degree with a major in thermal, industrial, and renewable energy engineering. "I did an internship in energy efficiency that reinforced my desire to go further in this field. I was able to design a photovoltaic installation for a mining site in southern Morocco. I really enjoyed that internship!"

"Ifeel right at home "

As soon as I enrolled at ENSAM Meknes, I knew that I would apply for the dual Arts et Métiers degree Arts et Métiers France. It was the logical next step in my career path!

Fatima Ezzahra then began her second year in the Grande Ecole Engineering Programme the Angers campus—the campus she had listed as her first choice. “We’ve heard great things from former students. The staff are very friendly, there’s a real sense of community, and the admissions office was a huge help. The start of the school year went very smoothly. That’s what encouraged us to choose Arts et Métiers—I feel right at home here!”

An opportunity to develop your skills

Beyond cultural immersion, pursuing this dual degree in France is a great opportunity to develop new skills. While Fatima Ezzahra has already studied some courses during her second year of engineering studies at ENSAM Meknes, there are others to discover. "The Arts et Métiers engineering profile Arts et Métiers a versatile one, and I want to discover lots of new things, so the two years atArts et Métiers will fly by!"She plans to add another string to her bow with a third-year specialization in mechanics.

Integrating during a health crisis: it is possible

Before arriving on campus, Fatima Ezzahra had to take a COVID-19 test and obtain authorization to leave Morocco. "Despite these circumstances, I am very happy to be here." Fatima is delighted with student life. Even though it is not possible to organize events with the entire class, she is getting to know her classmates through small group meetings.

There is a real family atmosphere here, a genuine integration process, and I have found a balance between community life and classes!

Provide compensation

Fatima Ezzahra wants to stay in France for a few years."When you're a student, you learn a lot, and I feel indebted, " she explains. "I have to give something back." She would like to work in France, specifically on collaborative projects between France and Morocco in the field of renewable energy. "Today's engineers must think about the future of the planet and its environment!" she concludes.
