Pierre Pouzin, general engineer, class of 2013

At the end of his first semester of studies on the Lille campus, Pierre Pouzin decided to apply for the Franco-American program—a dual-degree program run in partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology.

“I knew how renowned this prestigious American university was,” explains the young man. “Plus, I wanted to take advantage of the unique experience of studying abroad with students from all over the world. ” After completing an additional semester of study on the American campus, the student earned a dual degree: an engineering degree from Arts et Métiers and a Master of Science Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Opening up to new horizons

Pierre PouzinFor Pierre Pouzin, this program was an opportunity to strengthen his knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering, while discovering other subjects. He was able to study micromechanics, materials resistance, and acoustics at Georgia Tech. Another advantage, in his view, is the opportunity to explore other professional horizons.
"Careers are no longer limited to France. It is important to emphasize the importance of a dual degree abroad, which demonstrates true open-mindedness and appeals to international recruiters."

A career in the United States

Pierre Pouzin also enjoyed career fairs, where companies present their job opportunities in the United States. His early career confirms his appetite for international work: after joining Manhattan Associates, a software company specializing in supply chain management, at its French subsidiary, the young consultant moved to the company's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, in early 2016.
