The SATT Sayens company contacted theAMJE in Cluny to participate in the preparatory work for a mapping exercise in the fields of chemistry/materials and engineering sciences.

"The objective is to research and cross-reference information from existing documents on the internet (laboratory websites, articles, publications, projects carried out by research teams, etc.) and to analyze and synthesize this information in order to specify the laboratories' areas of research and differentiate between researchers' areas of expertise,"says Julie Rapetti, head of the AMJE's Study Monitoring Division.

The students working on this project were recruited based on the skills required to carry out the study. Typically, AMJE opens applications to all first- and second-year students at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny.

Due to the health crisis, the candidate selection criteria were revised. At the client’s request, Julie therefore focused on second-year students, as they have a deeper understanding of materials and engineering sciences given their progress in the Grande Ecole Engineering Programme Arts et Métiers . She also took the students’ academic backgrounds into account, giving preference in this case to students from PC/PSI preparatory classes. Finally, she reviewed the students’ profiles to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.

Listing the skills of laboratories aims to promote collaboration between companies and researchers in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, emphasizes Julie Rapetti.

That's how Coline Bar, Antoine Poncet and Emmanuelle Dorsival were able to deliver a document consisting of four types of files. This preparatory work will enable us to offer a more comprehensive map, which will be posted online and will cover several areas of expertise (not just chemistry and engineering).
