The SEGULA Technologies group has signed a Arts et Métiers partnership agreement with Arts et Métiers (2019-2021). Each year, Arts et Métiers SEGULA offer students tailor-made events.

In March 2020, students at the Metz campus will be able to attend a conference, followed by a business lunch and workshops: dynamic 3D implementation, developments in foundry processes, and internship opportunities to discover SEGULA and its professions (editor's note: of the three workshops planned, only one will go ahead due to staff availability).

Three questions for Christophe Berthiol, event host and Mechanical Process Expert at SEGULA Technologies.

What is the benefit of signing a partnership agreement with Arts et Métiers

The aim of this partnership is to create and maintain a lasting relationship with Arts et Métiers, enabling students to discover careers in engineering.

Arts et Métiers a comprehensive training program focused on our activities (project management) and our professions.
The dual degree programs offered internationally, such as those with Germany and the USA, also expose students to other cultures. This is an essential point for SEGULA, which is expanding its activities internationally. All the conditions are in place for a fruitful partnership.

Why organize such an event?

Our business, engineering in the world of mechanics, suffers from a somewhat "dusty" brand image, which does not always generate the interest we would like. The aim of this event is to showcase the developments in the relationship between major industrial contractors (automotive, aeronautics, etc.) and engineering companies (SEGULA in particular), as well as the importance of mechanical engineering professions (forging, casting, stamping, welding, machining) in the vehicle industry of the future.

These professions remain modern, generating employment and innovation.

Why offer workshops and not just a lecture hall presentation or a business lunch?

We see this event as an opportunity to interact with students. The presentation should spark their curiosity.
"Then, the business lunch and workshops allow us to gradually build closer relationships and break down the barrier of formality associated with presentations in lecture halls."
Discussions are direct, and answers are concrete around the stands or when sharing experiences. This also allows for more dynamic contact, which is more in line with students' expectations.

A point of contact for businesses: business relations

The Corporate Relations departments, located on each campus and at the General Management, are responsible for setting up and managingArts et Métiers partnership and sponsorship agreements. They also help guide companies toward the best solution for their needs, whether in terms of training, recruitment, or technological support.
