The Extraordinary Factory, a public interest initiative

The factory of the future is ready to provide solutions and answers to major challenges, using an inclusive, unifying approach that promotes positive values and projects for the future.

The second national edition of the event will take place in Marseille from November 14 to 16, 2019.

"The factory that will change your mind about factories!"

Event aimed at:

  • rebuild the ties between the factory and society,
  • putting the spotlight on industry to raise awareness among the general public and young people about the wealth of local industry,
  • demonstrate its capacity for innovation and all the potential it offers,
  • Focus on prospects in terms of professions, jobs, careers, and responses to current societal challenges: digital technology, adaptation to climate change, the search for sustainable energies and ecological solutions, sustainable development, new forms of mobility, the city of tomorrow, etc.

A unique event

The 5,000 m² of exhibition space will be divided between the J4 esplanade next to the MuCEM and the quay of honor at the port of Marseille Fos, where a ship hosting part of the event will be moored.

This new edition will highlight the importance and potential of French industry, with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region acting as its ambassador. It will be an opportunity to (re)discover international champions as well as outstanding industrial SMEs in the aeronautics, maritime, energy, and chemical sectors.

On the agenda: three days of behind-the-scenes tours of the factory, meetings with the people who work there every day, inspiring conferences and workshops on the role of today's factories in responding to major environmental and social challenges, as well as immersive experiences... to rekindle the connection between industry and the French people!

Designed for the general public, particularly young people, the event will welcome 30,000 visitors, including 10,000 schoolchildren, apprentices, and students from southern France (from Perpignan to Nice, including Corsica).
